Joseph Thomas 'Joey' Logano was born on May 24, 1990, making him part of the first generation of NASCAR drivers born in the 1990s. He would go on to become the first NASCAR driver born in that decade to compete in NASCAR's three major divisions.

Racing Career

Logano's NASCAR career began with Joe Gibbs Racing, where he drove the No. 20 Toyota Camry from 2008 to 2012, collecting two wins and 41 Top 10 finishes during his tenure with the team.

His breakthrough came early in his career during the 2008 Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway in the Nationwide Series. In just his third start, Logano became the youngest driver to win a Nationwide Series race at 18 years, 21 days old, breaking Casey Atwood's 1999 record of 18 years, 313 days.

The following year, Logano continued his record-breaking ways in the Sprint Cup Series. He won the 2009 Lenox Industrial Tools 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway at 19 years, 35 days, becoming the youngest winner in Sprint Cup Series history and surpassing Kyle Busch's 2005 record of 20 years, 125 days.

After his time with Joe Gibbs Racing, Logano moved to Team Penske, where he currently drives the No. 22 Ford Fusion full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He also competes part-time in the Xfinity Series driving the No. 22 Ford Mustang for the same team.

In 2015, Logano achieved one of NASCAR's most prestigious victories by winning the Daytona 500, becoming the second-youngest champion in the race's history. In September 2014, he secured his future with Team Penske by signing a multi-year contract extension that ran through the 2018 season.
