Racing Career
McDowell has built a career as a versatile racer, competing across multiple disciplines including stock cars, open-wheel racing, and sports cars. This diverse racing background has given him a unique perspective and skill set that he brings to NASCAR competition.
Currently, McDowell competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series behind the wheel of the No. 71 Chevrolet ZL1 for Spire Motorsports. In addition to his Cup Series duties, he also races part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, piloting the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado for the same organization.
His multi-disciplinary racing experience sets him apart from many of his NASCAR contemporaries, having gained valuable seat time in various racing formats that have contributed to his development as a professional driver.
