Luca Marini
Early Life

Born on 10 August 1997, Luca Marini hails from Italy and carries the unique distinction of being the maternal half-brother of motorcycle racing legend Valentino Rossi. This family connection would prove influential in his path toward Grand Prix motorcycle racing, providing him with both inspiration and insight into the world of professional motorsport from an early age.
Junior Career
Marini's Grand Prix career began with a wildcard entry in the Moto3 World Championship at the 2013 San Marino and Rimini Riviera motorcycle Grand Prix, though he failed to finish the race on his debut. Two years later, in 2015, he returned to the same venue for another wildcard appearance, this time stepping up to the Moto2 class with Pons Racing Junior Team aboard a Kalex machine, where he finished 21st and completed his first Grand Prix distance.
Racing Career
Marini's breakthrough came in the Moto2 World Championship, where he emerged as a title contender and finished as runner-up in the 2020 season. This strong performance earned him promotion to MotoGP, where he competed for Mooney VR46 Racing Team in 2023, achieving a respectable eighth position in the championship standings.
His career trajectory led to a significant move for 2024, as he secured a contract with Honda HRC Castrol, one of the sport's most prestigious teams. This two-year deal, running through 2025, represents a major step forward in his MotoGP career and places him within one of the factory teams' rider lineups.
