Born October 19, 1998 in Jupiter, Florida, Kyle MacLean Kirkwood began his racing journey at a young age through karting. Growing up in the motorsport-friendly environment of South Florida, he often found himself competing alongside fellow Jupiter native Oliver Askew, establishing early rivalries that would shape his competitive spirit.
Junior Career

Kirkwood's karting career proved highly successful, establishing him as one of America's most promising young talents. He captured the AM Engines Formula Tag Junior championship in 2012, followed by victory at the prestigious SKUSA SuperNationals XVII in the S5 Junior category in 2013. His momentum continued with back-to-back triumphs at the Florida Winter Tour in 2015 and 2016, demonstrating the consistency that would become a hallmark of his racing career.
Racing Career
Kirkwood currently competes in the IndyCar Series, piloting the No. 27 Dallara-Honda for Andretti Global. His IndyCar career has been highlighted by his mastery of the Grand Prix of Long Beach, where he has established himself as a formidable street circuit racer. He claimed his first IndyCar victory at Long Beach in 2023, then returned to repeat the feat in 2025, making him a two-time winner of one of the series' most prestigious events.
