Born in Rimini, Italy, on December 30, 1997, Enea Bastianini's journey into motorsport began at an extraordinarily young age. He first rode a minibike when he was just 3 years and 3 months old - a detail that would later inspire his racing number 33, which he carries as a tribute to those formative early moments on two wheels.

His early passion for racing quickly developed through minibike competition, where he enjoyed considerable success and laid the foundation for what would become a promising career in motorcycle racing.

Junior Career

After establishing himself in minibike racing, Bastianini progressed through various Italian racing categories, demonstrating his talent across multiple disciplines. He competed successfully in the Honda HIRP Trophy 100cc and the MiniGP 70cc Italian Championship, building experience and honing his skills.

His breakthrough came in 2012 when he claimed the championship title in the Honda RS125 Trophy, marking his first major success in organized motorcycle racing. This achievement opened doors to higher-level competition.

In 2013, Bastianini made a significant step up by competing in the prestigious Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, a renowned breeding ground for future MotoGP stars. He made an immediate impact, securing two race victories and finishing fourth in the championship standings. That same year, he also began his transition to the world championship level by participating in five races of the Moto3 Italian Championship, gaining valuable experience in the category that would define his early professional career.

Racing Career

Bastianini's full-time entry into the Moto3 World Championship came in 2016 with Gresini Racing Moto3. In what proved to be a remarkable debut season, he established himself as one of the class's most promising talents, finishing as championship runner-up with an impressive tally of 177 points.

His standout 2016 campaign included six podium finishes and a memorable first Grand Prix victory at Motegi, demonstrating both consistency and the ability to win at the highest level. This strong debut season positioned him as a rising star in the motorcycle racing world and set the stage for his continued progression through the Grand Prix ranks.
