Christian Lundgaard
Junior Career

Lundgaard began his single-seater career in 2017 with an impressive debut season, winning both the F4 Spanish and SMP F4 Championship titles. This immediate success marked him as a rising talent in motorsport and earned him a place in the Alpine Academy, where he would develop for the next five years.
In 2018, he progressed to the Formula Renault Eurocup, delivering a strong campaign that saw him finish as runner-up to Max Fewtrell. His consistent performances earned him a promotion to the prestigious ART Grand Prix team for the 2019 FIA Formula 3 Championship, where he concluded the season in 6th place overall.
Continuing his partnership with ART Grand Prix, Lundgaard moved up to the 2020 Formula 2 Championship. He secured two race victories during the season and finished 7th in the overall standings, demonstrating his ability to compete at the highest levels of junior motorsport. However, a disappointing 2021 season prompted a strategic career shift that would take him across the Atlantic.
Racing Career
Following his challenging 2021 Formula 2 campaign, Lundgaard made the bold decision to switch to IndyCar for the 2022 season, joining Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in the No. 45 car. His adaptation to American open-wheel racing proved successful, as he captured the 2022 IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year award, establishing himself as one of the series' most promising newcomers.
Lundgaard's breakthrough moment came at the 2023 Honda Indy Toronto, where he claimed his maiden IndyCar victory. This historic win made him the first Danish driver to ever triumph in an IndyCar race, cementing his place in motorsport history and validating his decision to pursue his career in the United States.
Currently competing for Arrow McLaren in the No. 7 Chevrolet, Lundgaard continues to build on his early IndyCar success. His journey from European junior formulae to IndyCar victory represents a successful transition that few drivers manage to execute so effectively.
