Remy Gardner, the Australian rider known for his prowess in motorcycle racing, has confirmed his continuation with Yamaha Motor Europe for the upcoming WorldSBK seasons in 2026 and 2027. His tenure with Yamaha in the FIM Superbike World Championship has transformed over the years, showcasing significant growth and adaptability.
After transitioning from MotoGP to WorldSBK in 2023, Gardner faced a challenging initial year that served as a development phase. By 2024, he had evolved into a formidable competitor, consistently landing in the top six. The 2025 season has proven to be particularly rewarding, as Gardner demonstrated remarkable speed aboard his Yamaha R1, culminating in his second career WorldSBK podium at the TT Circuit Assen earlier this year.
“I am happy to be continuing with Yamaha in WorldSBK, our journey together so far has been good but I still feel that we are only scratching the surface of what we can achieve,” said Gardner. His determination to improve further is evident as he aims for greater consistency in his performances. “We’ve shown that when everything comes together, we can be quick and fight for the podium, my target is to do this more consistently over the remainder of the 2025 season and look towards taking a further step in 2026,” he added.
Gardner's growth as a rider has not gone unnoticed by the management at Yamaha. Niccolò Canepa, the Yamaha Motor Europe Road Racing Sporting Manager, acknowledged Gardner's contributions over the past few years. “Remy has become a valuable member of our line-up over the last few years, not just through his speed and potential, but also his ability to give detailed feedback which proves useful to our engineers,” Canepa noted. This feedback is crucial as the team continually strives to enhance the performance of the Yamaha R1 in the highly competitive WorldSBK environment.
The latest agreement ensures that Gardner will enter his fourth season with the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team, a partnership that promises to yield further achievements. With a solid foundation now laid, both Gardner and the team are focused on harnessing their capabilities for the upcoming seasons.
As the 2025 season progresses, both Gardner and Yamaha aim to build upon their recent successes. The combination of Gardner’s racing talent and Yamaha's engineering excellence positions them as strong contenders for podium finishes. Looking ahead, the upcoming seasons are likely to be pivotal in cementing Gardner’s legacy within the WorldSBK arena.
In summary, as Remy Gardner embarks on his extended journey with Yamaha Motor Europe, both the racer and the team are set on a path that could redefine their future in the Superbike realm. With ambitions high and the potential for growth evident, the next two seasons promise to be an exciting chapter in Gardner’s racing career.
