However, the Californian soon faced stiff competition as he succumbed to pressure from Alonso Lopez. The intense battle between Roberts and Lopez allowed other contenders to gain ground. “It was crucial to maintain pressure and stay focused throughout the race,” Roberts remarked, highlighting the challenges he faced.
Eventually, Lopez slipped ahead, prompting both Aron Canet and Manuel Gonzalez to join the fray at the front. The following laps saw dramatic jockeying for position, culminating in a thrilling showdown on lap nine when Roberts made a calculated move to regain the lead at turn one.
