Dan Cammish, a prominent figure in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), has solidified his future with NAPA Racing UK by signing a new multi-year agreement with the Alliance Racing team. The announcement, made on July 26, 2024, comes as the racing season heats up, ensuring that Cammish will continue to be a vital component of the team going forward.
Cammish initially joined the NAPA Racing UK program in late 2021, marking the automotive parts brand’s entry into British motorsport. During his inaugural season with NAPA, Cammish secured a respectable eighth position in the championship standings, punctuated by a notable victory at Thruxton. In 2023, he improved his performance, finishing sixth overall, thanks in part to three race wins – an impressive feat considering he missed three crucial races due to a qualifying incident.
As the 2024 season unfolds, Cammish is on track to outdo his previous achievements. Currently, he ranks fourth in the standings, having claimed five podium finishes in the first nine races of the year. At 35 years old, Cammish, a three-time champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, is experiencing one of the strongest seasons of his BTCC career, with a points-per-race average that ranks as the second highest of his tenure.
The timing of this contract extension is particularly meaningful as Cammish prepares for his home round at Croft. Reflecting on a successful outing there last year, Cammish stated, "It is fantastic to have signed another multi-year agreement with Alliance Racing. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the team thus far, and I am very proud to be continuing our relationship."
The renewal of Cammish’s contract not only strengthens his role within the team but also underscores NAPA Racing’s commitment to the BTCC.
