"It's always tough to recover from incidents like that, but we managed to stay focused and keep pushing forward," stated Waters.

However, that was short-lived; Brodie Kostecki aggressively maneuvered to the forefront, relegating De Pasquale to sixth by lap two. "I thought (Anton) saw me," Kostecki recounted, reflecting on the fierce competition. "I had overlap before the braking zone. A bit unfortunate for him, but that’s racing."
The battle for positioning continued as Feeney overtook the DJR car, enhancing the strategy for Triple Eight. Kostecki’s moves on the track had significant implications for De Pasquale, who soon found himself shuffled down to ninth place.
Strategic plays among the Penrite Mustangs unfolded, as Richie Stanaway was directed to allow teammate Matt Payne through, indicating the team’s tactical awareness. However, disaster struck moments later when the #26 Mustang's engine failed, causing concern as the car lost control at over 200 km/h.

Several teams took advantage of the Full Course Yellow, but not without experiencing some unexpected setbacks. Notably, Will Davison, David Reynolds, and Tim Slade encountered issues that slowed their pace, affecting their strategic play.
James Golding and David Russell, on the other hand, powered through to secure an emotional third place for PremiAir Racing—marking a significant achievement for the team. "This is huge for us, getting on the podium feels fantastic," Golding noted after the race.
