The 2026 FIA WRC3 Championship is anticipated to be an exciting season as it represents the thirteenth edition of WRC3, organized under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Designed for privateers and teams whose vehicles comply with Group Rally3 regulations, this championship will begin in January 2026 with the prestigious Monte Carlo Rally, concluding in November with the Rally Saudi Arabia.
"We are eager to kick off the new season with the Monte Carlo Rally," said a spokesperson for the FIA, highlighting the significance of this iconic event in rallying history.
The championship is structured to run alongside the main 2026 World Rally Championship, ensuring that it garners attention in the global motorsport arena. The season consists of fourteen rounds, staging some of the most thrilling rallying events across Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia.
The season's kickoff will take place from January 22 to January 25, 2026, at the Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo, known for its mixed surface and challenging roads. "Monte Carlo is a rite of passage for any rally driver, and we expect fierce competition right from the start," said an analyst familiar with the championship.
Subsequent rounds include the Rally Sweden, running from February 12 to February 15, known for its snowy landscapes and demanding conditions.
"Snow rallies require a unique set of skills, and the drivers need to adapt quickly to the surface changes," remarked a former champion reflecting on the challenge of the Rally Sweden.
The Safari Rally Kenya is poised to take place in March, posing another test of endurance with its primarily gravel surfaces. "Every rally has its own intricacies, but Safari Rally is legendary for putting both the cars and drivers through their paces," observed an experienced rally team manager.
Following the Safari Rally, the calendar features events across various terrains, including the Croatia Rally from April 9 to April 12. This rally makes a return to the championship after a one-year hiatus as an event in the European Rally Championship.
"The return of the Croatia Rally is a positive change, bringing fresh dynamics to the racing calendar," said a WRC official.
Additionally, the Acropolis Rally has announced changes, moving its headquarters to Loutraki after five years based in Lamia, aiming to enhance the experience for both teams and spectators.
As the summer approaches, the series will continue with events such as Rally Japan and Rally Estonia.
"Rally Japan will be crucial; we have many fans there, and it's a fantastic place for rallying with its tarmac and scenic routes," noted a team principal.
Further events include Rally del Paraguay and Rally Chile, both set to take place in the latter half of the year. Finally, the season culminates with the Rally Saudi Arabia from November 11 to November 14, an event anticipated to showcase some of the top talent in the rallying world.
"Finishing the season in Saudi Arabia adds a unique element to the championship, allowing competitors to encounter new landscapes and challenging terrains," said a championship analyst.
