After the Hungarian Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri's position at the top of the 2025 Formula 1 drivers' championship has been slightly compromised, as his lead has decreased to a mere nine points. The young Australian driver now holds 284 points, having won six races this season.
Lando Norris, Piastri's teammate at McLaren, clinched his fifth victory of the season in Hungary, vitalizing his pursuit for the title. "I'm really pleased with how the race went, particularly the strategy we employed. The one-stop worked perfectly for us," said Norris. His win demonstrates the excellent performance of the McLaren team, reinforcing their dominance this season.
Max Verstappen, driving for Oracle Red Bull Racing, experienced a difficult race weekend, finishing in ninth place and holding onto third position in the championship with 187 points. Despite a disappointing outcome in Hungary, Verstappen remains optimistic about future races. "It's been tough, but I know we can bounce back from this," he stated.
