Lando Norris delivered a nail-biting performance at the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, edging out teammate Oscar Piastri for the win. This victory has significant implications for the drivers' championship, slashing Piastri’s lead from 16 points to a mere nine as the season heads into the summer break.
"It was an intense race. Every lap mattered, and I’m glad I managed to hold off Oscar at the end," said Norris, reflecting on a challenging competition. The competitive finale showcased McLaren’s dominance, marking their fourth consecutive one-two finish, and further solidifying their substantial lead in the constructors' standings.
George Russell of Mercedes also had a noteworthy performance, finishing third and thereby reducing Red Bull’s Max Verstappen’s lead to 15 points. Russell noted, "It feels good to contribute to the team’s standing. We’re pushing hard, and every point counts as we head into the second half of the season."

On the flip side, Charles Leclerc, who started the race from pole position, faced a difficult afternoon. Despite a solid beginning, he was later handed a five-second penalty for erratic driving, resulting in a fourth-place finish. "The penalty was frustrating, but I kept trying to give my best throughout the race," Leclerc commented. He now sits fifth in the championship with 151 points.
